Random Photo -- Ocean Sunset

"When Is A Man Educated?

"When he can look out upon the universe, now lucid and lovely, now dark and terrible, with a sense of his own littleness in the great scheme of things, and yet have faith and courage. When he knows how to make friends and keep them, and above all, when he can keep friends with himself.

"When he can be happy alone and high-minded amid the drudgeries of life. When he can look into a wayside puddle and see something besides mud, and into the face of the most forlorn mortal and see something divine.

"When he knows how to live, how to love, how to hope, how to pray -- is glad to be alive... and has in his heart a bit of a song."

  2. Wonderful quote. We should all learn to become our own best friend!

  3. I agree with Janine about the quote.

I like the way you whip out a favorite photo now and then to decorate your blog. A befitting anecdote, long caption, or mini-essay would make it nicer yet.

But please stop calling them "random" photos. In what sense are they random -- that they don't especially pertain to Breaking News TODAY? Who cares?

  4. Boonie, Ouch! As the writer, photographer and editor, there is no one to point out the problems with my blog postings. Thanks for the feedback. PS: Random because from my collections and not a current photo. Now there is something else to keep me awake. Jeesh.
