Found this saguaro at a one time mine site in the hills of Tucson Mountain Park. With arms spreading outward, this unusual saguaro recalled mariachi music and the dancing senorita with a flaring skirt.
I love those cactus! That particular one must be very old, I was told at around 70 years they start putting out arms, and that one is so many. :) Just beautiful!

ReplyDeleteAccording to a docent at the Desert Museum, the saguaro will sprout arms at about 75 years. Why some have more arms, they have no idea.
ReplyDeleteThe canteen usually has filtered iodized reverse osmosis water. Usually.
